Open Hearts-Open Minds-Open Doors

About Our Pastor

My name is Pastor Chad Mogus and I am the pastor of Rhome UMC. Wise County is home for me as I was born and raised in Bridgeport Texas. My faith journey began in Bridgeport UMC and I was involved in many of its ministries throughout my grade school years. I graduated high school from Bridgeport H.S. and went on to finish a bachelor’s degree in Business and Sociology from Texas Woman’s University. I have been blessed to have been involved in many United Methodist Churches, most recently F.U.M.C the Colony, where I began my candidacy into ordained ministry in the North Texas Conference. I completed licensing school as a Licensed Local Pastor in the spring of 2016 and accepted a pastoral appointment the following July to Rhome UMC.

I will be attending Perkins School of Theology this upcoming fall and will be pursuing a Masters of Divinity degree. I am currently a continuing candidate for ministry and am on the elder track within the U.M.C.

I have a love for small country churches and my mission is to help lead people to a deeper relationship with God through Jesus Christ as we stand hand in hand in our joint ministry.

An interesting fact is I am a full member and citizen of the Chickasaw Native American tribe and am active in its functions and life. My heritage has played a strong role in my life and in my spiritual connection with God.

My hobbies include a serious love for fishing, camping, wood working, reading, and family time.
